Testicular Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma occurs when the cancer attacks the mesothelium, which is composed of mesothelial cells forming a protective layer over the body cavities and organs. The mesothelium produces fluid that protects organs and allow movement. The lining in the chest called the pleura and the abdominal wall known as the peritoneum.

Mesothelioma Types 
Malignant mesothelioma, the most common is pleural mesothelioma, which occurs in the chest and is responsible for approximately 75% of mesothelioma cancers. The rarest form of mesothelioma is testicular. From 2,000 to 3,000 cases of mesothelioma cancer diagnosed each year, fewer than 100 cases of testicular mesothelioma. testicular mesothelioma has been known to occur in a wide age range but most patients are adults over 50. Caucasians are the most subject to disease, especially those working in industrial or construction work. 

Mesothelioma Causes 
The main factor is known to cause malignant mesothelioma is previous exposure to asbestos. Asbestos is a type of mineral composed of magnesium silicate fibers. A popular form of insulation, asbestos was preferred for its fire resistance and strength. When research showed that asbestos posed health problems, the popularity of the ore began to decline. Exposure to asbestos

Other causes of mesothelioma

Testicular mesothelioma symptoms 
The primary symptom of testicular mesothelioma is usually a simple package that leads to delayed diagnosis. Therefore, the disease is usually advanced before a diagnosis is made successfully. Because the cancer is very aggressive, patients usually do not survive more than a year after diagnosis. 

Fortunately, testicular mesothelioma is very rare. However, due to its aggressive nature and the fact that the cancer coming back often, metastasis or spread to areas such as the lungs, breast, brain and lymph nodes is likely. Because of this, the life expectancy of a patient with testicular mesothelioma is usually less than 2 years. 

The treatment of the disease 
The first cases of cancer occasionally can be treated with surgical excision with chemotherapy and radiotherapy is also used. Unfortunately, in the later stages, the cancer is completely curable and most can do is to alleviate patient discomfort.
